Dredge Yard designed a heavy-duty dredge pump with gearbox. This component can be installed inside a trailing suction hopper dredger or a cutter suction dredge.
The design is suitable for direct mounting on the heavy-duty reduction gearbox. This gearbox is provided with built-in clutch and heavy-long life thrust bearing.
Benefits of mounting pump directly on gearbox
Assembling the dredge pump directly on the gearbox eliminates the use of a bearing block. Therefore the complete assembly is compact and takes up less space. Another benefit is that the total weight is less.
The dredge pump is also provided with hydro-seal or stuffing box, depending on customer application and requirements.
